Police are investigating a fatal crash which occurred in Werribee South this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Diggers Road about 2 pm on 1 January after reports a car had crashed into a parked truck.
The car then caught fire.
Fire crews extinguished the blaze and the yet to be identified driver was declared deceased at the scene.
The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be established and the investigation remains ongoing.
