A man has died in a two-vehicle crash in the state’s south.
About 11.15pm on Friday (13 December 2024) emergency services were called to the Hume Highway, Cullerin, about 5km east of Gunning, following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to The Hume Police District attended and found two trucks had collided.
The driver of one of the trucks, a man believed to be aged in his 40s, died at the scene.
He is yet to be formally identified.
The driver of the second truck – a 25-year-old man – was uninjured.
He was taken to Goulburn Hospital for mandatory testing.
Police established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
The Hume Highway is closed eastbound between Gunning and Cullerin, with diversions in place. It is expected to remain closed for a number of hours.
Westbound lanes of the highway are unaffected.
