Homicide Squad detectives have arrested a boy following a fatal stabbing at a shopping centre in Melton West this morning.
Emergency services were called to an outdoor food court area on High Street just before midday.
A 16-year-old Harkness boy was located with life threatening injuries, CPR was commenced, but he died at the scene.
It’s believed there may have been an altercation between the victim and another male who fled the scene.
Investigators have subsequently arrested a 15-year-old Melton West boy who will now be interviewed.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
