Alliance Taskforce detectives have arrested eight youths in relation to a series of alleged aggravated home invasions over the past few days.
Detectives observed two stolen vehicles, which were allegedly involved in several aggravated home invasions, driving erratically in Wyndham Vale about 6pm last night.
Officers followed the vehicles to a house on Stream Road.
Police located seven people inside the home who were subsequently arrested.
The vehicles are alleged to be linked to:
• Armed robbery in Williams Landing on 4 December
• Aggravated home invasion in Point Cook on 5 December
• Aggravated home invasion in Brookfield on 5 December
• Aggravated burglary in Williams Landing on 5 December
• Theft of motor vehicle in Williams Landing on 1 December
• Theft of motor vehicle in Tarneit on 4 December
A Jeep and Camry have been seized for forensic examination.
A 14-year-old Point Cook boy has been charged with theft of motor vehicle and liquor thefts.
A 16-year-old Meadow Heights boy was charged with theft of motor vehicle and bail offences.
A 16-year-old Wyndham Vale boy was charged with aggravated home invasion, theft of motor vehicle and shop thefts.
A 16-year-old Point Cook boy was charged with aggravated home invasion, aggravated burglary and theft of motor vehicle.
They will appear at a children’s court at a later date.
A 19-year-old Truganina man was charged with aggravated burglary, theft of motor vehicle and liquor thefts.
He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later today.
A 16-year-old Truganina man and a 16-year-old Point Cook man were released pending further enquiries.
Detectives arrested a 14-year-old Tarneit boy on 5 December in relation to the alleged aggravated burglary in Williams Landing on 4 December.
He was remanded in custody to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
