A man who rammed police and civilian cars overnight and the front garage of a home, has been arrested by police in Hastings.
The man first came to police attention following reports he was asleep at the wheel of a parked car in Beilby Court about 10.50pm.
Officers checked the car and confirmed the Holden Statesman was unregistered and the registration plates stolen.
Police were initially unable to wake the man, so they moved in and placed tyre deflation devices in the vicinity of the car.
Once awake the man ignored several and repeated requests by police to get out of the car before he rammed one of the police cars and drove off over the stop sticks.
The man then drove through the front gates of a home where he reversed back and forth crashing into the brick pillars of a carport and a number of parked cars and police vehicles before coming to a stop.
Officers arrested the Hastings man after they deployed OC foam and removed the man from the car.
The 33-year-old man, who was believed substance affected, was taken to hospital under police guard.
It is expected the man, who was also wanted in relation to seven outstanding arrest warrants, will be interviewed in relation to the incident once released from hospital.
No one was injured during the incident.
