Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a man following an alleged stabbing in Port Melbourne earlier this week.
Investigators have been told two men were involved in an altercation at a licensed premises on Bay Street around 2am on Monday 9 March.
A 36-year-old man was taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives have worked around the clock which culminated in the arrest of a 26-year-old man in Port Melbourne this afternoon.
He is currently assisting police with their enquires.
