A man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing another man in Sydney’s south-west today.
About 7pm (Friday 1 May 2020), emergency services were called to a unit on Chapel Street, Belmore, following reports a man had been stabbed.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 27-year-old man for a stab wound to the back of his head, before taking him to St George Hospital in a stable condition.
Another man, aged 27, suffered lacerations to his hand and was treated on scene before being taken to Canterbury Hospital in a stable condition.
Police have been told he was injured after trying to intervene in the alleged attack.
Officers from Campsie Police Area Command arrested a 23-year-old man at the unit, before taking him to Campsie Police Station. He was later transferred under police guard to Canterbury Hospital for treatment.
Police have established a crime scene at the unit and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
