A man has been arrested following a stabbing in Port Macquarie overnight.
About 2.40am today (Sunday 19 November 2023), emergency services were called to a home on The Halyard, Port Macquarie, following reports a man had been stabbed.
Officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District arrived to find a 21-year-old man with serious injuries to his lower body.
He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital in a critical condition. He was later airlifted to John Hunter Hospital for further treatment.
Police established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the incident.
Following inquires, police arrested a 22-year-old man at Port Macquarie Police Station, where he is currently assisting with inquiries.
