A man has been arrested following a break-in and assault at Craigmore, where a woman severed her toe in the incident.
Just after midnight on Friday 20 December, two men used baseball bats to smash the front windows of a house in Washington Drive.
When the home owners went outside to investigate the noise, they were threatened by the two armed men.
During the ordeal, a 52-year-old woman who lives at the house, went to run back inside the home and in the process caught her foot on the front security door, severing her small toe on her left foot.
Ambulance officers rushed the injured woman to the Lyell McEwin Hospital, along with her severed toe in a plastic bag, which was found at scene by a police patrol. She was later transferred to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile police investigations led to them a Salisbury address where they located one of the alleged suspects.
A 25-year-old man from Salisbury was arrested and charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass, aggravated assault cause harm and property damage.
He has been refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court later today.
Enquiries are continuing to locate the second suspect who is known to the victim and police.
