A Murray Bridge man faces several charges including firearm offences following a police pursuit through the western suburbs overnight.
Just after 1.30am on Sunday 3 March, police patrols had set up a driver testing station on West Terrace in the city, when the driver of maroon coloured Ford Fairlane sedan purposely evaded the station.
The Police helicopter (PolAir) was already in the area and followed the Ford west down Glover Avenue then through Thebarton and Mile End.
The pursuit continued through Findon and Seaton, until it reached Port Road and East Avenue at Allenby Gardens where patrols were able to use road spikes puncturing two tyres.
The Fairlane then slowed through a few back streets of Croydon, where it had a minor collision with a patrol car.
Shortly after the male driver ran from the vehicle over fences and onto a roof of a house in Minerva Crescent.
A police dog patrol was quick to the scene, with police dog Iggy assisting to take the man into custody.
A 22-year-old man from Murray Bridge was arrested and charged with numerous driving offences including driving dangerously to evade police.
Police enquiries are continuing after a sawn off firearm was also found in the Ford Fairlane with further charges likely.
There were no injuries in the pursuit and only minor damage to one police vehicle.
