Police from the Dandenong Frontline Tactical Unit arrested two people in Dandenong North overnight in an allegedly stolen vehicle.
Officers attended a service station near the intersection of Heatherton and Stud roads about 2.30am where they located a vehicle bearing allegedly stolen plates.
The driver and passenger of the vehicle were arrested and further checks revealed the vehicle was also stolen.
Police searched the vehicle and also seized approximately 70 grams of methylamphetamine, small quantities of GHB and ecstasy and suspected stolen tools.
A 44-year-old man and 25-year-old woman from Korumburra were conveyed to Dandenong Police Station where they were interviewed and charged with theft of motor vehicle and traffick and possess a drug of dependence.
The pair have both been remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
This arrest is part of Operation Tidal which utilises a highly visible police presence across the Casey, Greater Dandenong and Cardinia Police Service Areas (PSAs).
Tidal is an ongoing operation and police will continue to focus resources where they’re most needed.
