A teenager was arrested after an attempted car theft at Rostrevor last night.
Police received multiple calls from residents about 11.15pm on Wednesday 12 June reporting a violent disturbance at the corner of Lindsay Street and Highland Avenue, Rostrevor.
It will be alleged a young man was approached by the suspect as he was getting out of his car outside his Rostrevor home. The suspect then punched the victim multiple times and demanded his vehicle, however, the victim managed to fight him off.
The victim, an 18-year-old Rostrevor man, sustained head injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Police arrived and arrested the suspect, who was allegedly armed with a knife. The 18-year-old Rostrevor man was charged with aggravated robbery, assault police and illegal interference. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.
The vehicle was towed from the scene for forensic examination.
