Two teenagers were arrested after being spotted in a stolen car overnight.
The stolen white Mitsubishi ute was detected by police on Hanson Road, Dry Creek about 10.40pm on Saturday 26 October and followed at a distance as it heading south onto South Road.
PolAir was called in to assist.
Police successfully spiked the ute’s tyres on Merchant Street, Mitchell Park and the vehicle eventually stopped in a dead-end street in Thirza Avenue.
Patrols quickly cordoned off the area.
The driver and passenger ran from the vehicle across the train line with Police Dog Duke and handler hot on their trail.
Both were quickly rounded up.
The two boys, both aged 15, from Mitchell Park and Plympton Park, were arrested and charged with illegal use.
They were bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Youth Court on 19 December.
The ute had been stolen from a Mitchell Park address yesterday. The owner was notified and the ute towed for forensic examination.
