LaTrobe Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested three people following a burglary and pursuit in Yinnar on 7 July.
Officers were called following a burglary at a residential premises on Creamery Road, where they arrested two people at the scene, about 11.10am.
It is believed a third man fled on foot, before confronting a couple and stealing their red Toyota Corolla.
The victims were not injured.
The offender was then involved in a collision with a police vehicle on Creamery Road before driving away, initiating a pursuit.
Stop sticks were successfully deployed on Creamery Road, but the man continued driving the car on its rims towards Boolarra.
The offender later lost control, crashed into a ditch on Fishers Road and was arrested at the scene.
A 35-year-old Sale man is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
