Two people were charged with drug trafficking and money laundering following a police investigation that uncovered a handgun, drugs and nearly a million dollars in cash.
On Thursday 16 April, police located a white Mercedes abandoned at Grange following a police pursuit. A handgun was located inside the car.
Following investigations, police identified that a suspect was staying at a hotel in the Adelaide CBD. A search of the hotel room on Friday 24 April allegedly uncovered 200 grams of methamphetamine, about 20 grams of cocaine, 700 ml of fantasy, steroids, prescription medication and $995,031 in cash.
A 35-year-old Torrensville man was arrested and charged with possess a firearm without a licence, trafficking in a commercial quantity of a controlled drug, two counts of trafficking in a controlled drug, two counts of possess prescription drug, money laundering and resist police.
On Sunday 26 April, a woman also associated with the hotel room was arrested. The 31-year-old Mitchell Park woman was charged with trafficking in a commercial quantity of a controlled drug, two counts of trafficking in a controlled drug, two counts of possess prescription drug, money laundering and resist police.
They were both refused police bail and appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 28 April.
