Police have arrested two men after they allegedly stole a vehicle and evaded police in Chirnside Park early Monday morning.
It is understood the victim, a 35-year-old Chirnside Park man, heard his vehicle and trailer being stolen from outside his Allambi Street residence about 1.40am.
The victim conducted a search of the surrounding streets, when he saw his car being driven by the two men and contacted police.
Officers followed the vehicle and attempted to intercept it in Yan Yean Road about 2.20am, but it failed to stop.
They continued to follow the vehicle until the offenders abandoned it and attempted to flee on foot near Bridge Inn Road, Wollert about 2.40am.
Officers with assistance from the Air Wing and Dog Squad arrested the two men after a short foot chase through the parkland.
The two men, both aged 18 from Epping, are currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
They are expected to be charged with theft of motor vehicle, evade police and other dangerous driving related offences.
