Police arrest two over aggravated robbery at Burton, South Australia

Police have arrested two men and recovered stolen property after two incidents at Burton early this morning.

About 3.30am (1 October) entry was gained to a deli on Burton Road after suspects smashed a window and stole lollies.

About fifteen minutes later, two men wearing balaclavas smashed the front door of a service station on Waterloo Corner Road with rocks to gain entry. Once inside, they threatened staff and entered the console area to steal cigarettes, cash and a handbag.

The suspects were seen leaving on a green Kawasaki trailbike.

Staff were not injured during the incident.

Police patrols set up cordons around the area and brought in Dog Operations to assist with the search.

Investigations led police to an address at Howe Court, Salisbury East where police located the green Kawasaki. Police searched the home locating the two suspects along with property from both of the break-ins.

The trailbike is suspected to be stolen and inquiries are continuing to locate an owner.

An 18-year-old man from Elizabeth Vale and a 17-year-old boy from Salisbury North have been charged with aggravated robbery and serious criminal trespass. They have been refused bail to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.
