Police have arrested a woman following a fire at Elizabeth Vale this morning.
About 7.15am on Wednesday 23 October, police and fire crews responded to reports of a fire underneath a carport of a Haslam Crescent home.
The carport was engulfed by flames when patrols arrived and fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze before it was able to spread to the house. The carport, car and an air conditioner were damaged in the fire.
There were four occupants in the house at the time but thankfully no one was injured.
Detectives from Northern District CIB attended along with forensic officers to investigate the fire. Police believe that it was deliberately lit.
As a result, a 42-year-old woman from Elizabeth Vale was arrested and charged with arson and four counts of acts to endanger life. She has been refused bail to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court tomorrow.
The woman is known to the occupants of the house and the incident is not considered random.
