Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged hit-run collision in Benalla on 4 August.
Police have been told a teenager was walking across Bridge Street about 9.20pm when he was allegedly struck by a 4WD ute.
The 16-year-old Benalla boy was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition.
The driver allegedly didn’t stop at the scene and fled in the damaged vehicle.
A 23-year-old Benalla man was arrested and has been charged with fail to stop, fail to render assistance, attempt to pervert the course of justice and disqualified driving.
He has been remanded to appear at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
