Police Charge Man After Bundanoon Crash – Hume

A man has been charged following a crash in the state’s South.

About 1.45am on Saturday 3 August 2024, emergency services were called to Penrose Road, Bundanoon, following reports of a crash.

Upon arrival, officers attached to The Hume Police District found a vehicle alight, after it had hit a tree.

All five people were able to get out of the car.

The driver, a 19-year-old man, was breath tested at the scene and allegedly returned a positive roadside breath test.

He was taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment for a broken jaw.

The four passengers, three males aged 19,19 and 20 and a 19-year-old female were taken to Wollongong and Liverpool Hospitals in a stable condition.

Following inquiries, the 19-year-driver attended Southern Highlands Police Station on Saturday 7 September 2024.

He was issued with a future court attendance and charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm), two counts of cause bodily harm by misconduct in charge of motor vehicle and special category driver drive with special range PCA. His drivers’ licence was also suspended.

The man will front Moss Vale Local Court on (Tuesday 26 November 2024).
