Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man following the death of another man in Heidelberg West yesterday.
Police responded to reports of two men fighting in Alamein Road about 11.45am on 15 June.
The deceased, a 49-year-old Heidelberg West man, was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
He later died in hospital.
A 40-year-old Heidelberg West man was arrested at the scene.
He has been charged with murder and will appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
It is believed the men were known to each other.
