A man will appear in court today charged following a fatal crash, where a motorcyclist died, in Sydney’s west yesterday.
About 7pm (Monday 15 August 2022), emergency services were called to Olympic Drive near Childs Street, Lidcombe, after reports a car and a motorcycle had collided.
Police and fire fighters conducted CPR on the rider until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived.
They continued treatment, however he could not be revived and died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged 49.
Officers from Auburn Police Area Command established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic police.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash commenced.
The driver of the utility – a 23-year-old man – was taken to Auburn Hospital for mandatory testing.
He was then taken to Auburn Police Station and charged with negligent driving occasioning death.
The man was refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court today (Tuesday 16 August 2022).
