Police have charged a man over a home invasion in Sydney’s inner-city last month.
Just before midnight on Friday 3 January 2020, a 36-year-old man and three other men allegedly forced entry into a unit on Shepherd Street, Chippendale.
The men allegedly argued with the occupants of the unit before fleeing. However, one of the men fell and was allegedly stabbed in his head, arm and hip.
He was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and has since been released.
Three occupants of the unit – two men aged 22 and 24, and a 55-year-old woman – were arrested at the scene and charged in relation to the stabbing. They remain before the courts.
Officers from South Sydney Police Area Command today (Friday 7 February 2020) charged the 36-year-old man with break enter and commit serious indictable offence with special aggravation, and possess prohibited drug.
He was also charged with break enter and steal for a separate incident at Alexandria on Tuesday 7 January 2020, and attempt stealing and malicious damage at Arncliffe on Wednesday 15 January 2020.
He appeared at Parramatta Local Court today (Friday 7 February 2020) and was refused bail.
The man is due to appear at Central Local Court on Thursday 2 April 2020.
