Police Charge Man After Incident At Blacktown

A man will appear in court tomorrow (Tuesday 6 August 2024), after being charged following an alleged incident at Blacktown.

About 3pm today (Monday 5 August 2024), police attached to Blacktown Police Area Command were called to a shopping centre on Patrick Street, Blacktown, following reports of a man allegedly acting suspiciously.

Upon arrival, officers commenced a search of the shopping centre and located a man inside a retail store.

During the search, police located and seized a meat cleaver allegedly hidden in sporting equipment.

A 21-year-old man was arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station.

He was charged with shoplifting value less than or equal $2000, armed with intent to commit indictable offence, custody of knife in public place and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm.

He was refused bail to appear before Blacktown Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 6 August 2024).
