Police charge man after investigations into fatal crash in Pindimar

A man will face court next month after being charged with a fatal crash on the state’s Mid North Coast.

Just before 11.30am on Monday 4 October 2021, emergency services were called to Pindimar Road near Myall Way, Pindimar, after reports a Subaru Forrester and a Nissan Dualis had collided.

Police have been told a woman stopped her Nissan Dualis on the shoulder of Pindimar Road, when it was struck by a Subaru Forrester.

Emergency services attended; however, the 64-year-old Bundabah woman died at the scene.

The Subaru driver, a 46-year-old Pindimar man, was freed after being trapped and airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.

A crime scene was established by officers from Port Stephens Hunter Police District which was later examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.

Following extensive investigations, the man today (Monday 6 December 2021) attended Manly Police Station and was charged with:

  • Aggravated dangerous driving occasioning death – speed > 45 over limit
  • Dangerous driving occasioning death-drive speed dangerous
  • Dangerous driving occasioning death-drive under influence
  • Dangerous driving occasioning death-drive manner dangerous
  • Negligent driving (occasioning death)
  • Drive with middle range PCA

He has been granted conditional bail to appear at Raymond Terrace Local Court on Monday 24 January 2022.
