Police charge man after New Norfolk supermarket burglary

A 36 year old man has been charged after a New Norfolk supermarket was burgled overnight yesterday.

Shortly before 3am on Thursday, 16 January two people forced entry to the store and stole a large amount of cigarette packets.

About 5am a white Subaru wagon was reported stolen from a nearby residence.

After conducting enquiries and searching a property in the New Norfolk area, Police recovered the car and a quantity of cigarettes before arresting and charging the man with motor vehicle stealing, burglary and stealing.

The investigation to identify and locate the second offender is ongoing.
