Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged ramming and carjacking which occurred in Melbourne’s south-east last week.
It is alleged a stolen Audi was seen on Carlisle Street, St Kilda around 11.40am on 31 October.
Police attempted to intercept the car but it allegedly rammed two police vehicles and drove off.
It’s believed the driver was then involved in the carjacking of a Volvo in Elwood a short time later.
The Volvo was dumped on Bright Street in East Brighton and it is alleged the driver entered a property on Davies Street and another on Cluden Street before being arrested by police.
A 44-year-old Melton man was today interviewed by police and charged with aggravated intentional exposure of risk to police officer while driving, attempted aggravated carjacking, theft of motor vehicle, attempted armed robbery and other charges.
He has been remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
