Sex Assault Squad Detectives have charged a man after an incident in Perth on Tuesday, 17 January 2023.
About 5.55pm, a woman was laying on her stomach sunbathing in the garden area of Council House when a man came up behind her and sexually assaulted.
The man fled the area and was apprehended by police later that night in the Perth CBD.
A 32-year-old man from Scarborough has been charged with:
• Impeded Another Person’s Normal Breathing or Blood Circulation by Applying Pressure to Neck;
• Sexual Penetration without Consent; and
• Attempted Sexual Penetration without Consent.
He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 15 February 2023.
