A man has been charged over an alleged stabbing in Sydney’s west yesterday
About 7.15pm (Monday 9 March 2020), officers from Cumberland Police Area Command were called to a outside a home on Abbott Street, Merrylands, following reports of a dispute.
It will be alleged that as NSW Ambulance paramedics were treating a woman for minor injuries, two men, aged 37 and 39, began to fight.
The 39-year-old man allegedly stabbed the younger man during the argument.
He was taken to Westmead Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
The 39-year-old man suffered an injury to his chest and was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
Following inquiries, officers charged the older man with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He remains under police guard in hospital. It is expected a bedside hearing will be scheduled in the coming days.
