A man has been charged following an investigation into a stabbing in the Southern Highlands.
About 6.45am yesterday (Wednesday 11 March 2020), emergency services were called to a house on the Old Hume Highway near Lyell Street, Mittagong, after reports a home had been broken into and a man had been stabbed.
A 34-year-old man was treated at the scene for stab wounds to his legs, arms and shoulder before being airlifted to Liverpool Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
Officers from The Hume Police District established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following extensive inquiries, about 5pm yesterday (Wednesday 11 March 2020) police attended Bowral Hospital and arrested a 22-year-old Moruya man.
The man was charged with special aggravated break and enter with wounding.
He was refused bail and is due to face Goulburn Local Court today (Thursday 12 March 2020).
