A man will appear in court today after being charged following an alleged stabbing in Sydney’s south west.
About 11pm yesterday (Saturday 23 November 2024), emergency services were called to Kenilworth Street, Miller, following reports of a stabbing.
Officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command were told a 47-year-old man had been stabbed by an 18-year-old man following an altercation, before the younger man left the scene in an SUV.
The two men are known to each other.
The 47-year-old was treated by Police and NSW Ambulance paramedics for an arm wound, before being taken to Liverpool Hospital.
Police established a crime scene and commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following inquiries, about 1am today (Sunday 24 November 2024), police located and stopped an SUV on Wentworth Street, Port Kembla.
During a search of the vehicle, officers allegedly located and seized a knife and a baseball bat.
An 18-year-old man was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station and charged with wound person intend to cause grievous bodily harm (DV).
He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today.
