A man will face court today charged over the alleged committing of sex acts on himself and stalking a teenage girl in Sydney’s south-west yesterday.
About 3.15pm yesterday (Monday 24 June 2019), a 13-year-old girl was walking home from school on Magee Lane, Glenfield, when an unknown man, who was allegedly carrying out a sex act on himself, called out to get her attention.
The girl hurried through the laneway to get away from the man, but he followed her, and as she walked along Trafalgar Street, the girl contacted her mother, who called police while the girl sought refuge in a nearby home.
Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command arrived a short time later, but the man had fled the scene.
After speaking with the girl, police conducted an extensive search of the area and arrested the man on Railway Parade just before 4.30pm.
While the man was being taken to Campbelltown Police Station and after arriving in the custody area, he allegedly continued to commit sexual acts on himself.
The Glenfield man was subsequently charged with intentionally do sexual act with child aged between 10 and 16, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm, and carry out sexual act with another without consent.
He has been refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today (Tuesday 25 June 2019).
