Special Crime Division detectives have charged a man in relation to a commercial burglary which occurred in Morley in 2012.
About 3:30am on Thursday 27 December 2012, entry was forced to a business premises on Bookham Street, Morley. It will be alleged an amount of copper wire, copper cut-offs, a copper cable winding machine and other items worth more than $70,000 in total was stolen.
Detectives from the Special Crime Division conducted a full review of all aspects of the investigation, and used enhanced DNA forensic techniques to analyse items of evidence seized at the time of the burglary.
As a result of the review, a 59-year-old man, who was 48 years old at the time of the incident, has been charged with ‘Burglary and Commit Offence in Place’ and ‘Stealing’, and is due to appear before the Perth Magistrate Court today, Tuesday 16 January 2024.
