A man has been charged after allegedly attempting to steal money from two stores on the South Coast yesterday.
Police have been told a man entered a liquor store on Meroo Street, Bomaderry, about 1.45pm (Wednesday 5 October 2022), and allegedly threatened an employee while demanding cash.
When the employee refused, the man allegedly punched the register, and left the store empty-handed before entering a nearby supermarket, where he also threatened staff while demanding cash.
A customer intervened and was allegedly punched in the face and threatened.
Officers attached to South Coast Police District were notified and attended the scene, arresting a 23-year-old man.
He was taken to Nowra Police Station where he allegedly continued to be aggressive towards police and spat at a Corrective Services NSW officer.
The Bomaderry man has since been charged with stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (personal), two counts of demand property with menaces with intent to steal, and two counts of common assault.
He was refused bail to appear in Nowra Local Court Tuesday 15 November 2022.
