A man has been charged over alleged drug supply offences following a vehicle stop in Sydney’s south west yesterday.
About 2.30pm (Wednesday 4 December 2024), officers attached to Fairfield Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle on St Johns Road, Canley Heights for the purposes of random roadside testing.
The driver – a 36-year-old man – allegedly produced a false driver’s licence.
The officers, with the assistance of the Dog Unit, searched the man’s vehicle where they allegedly located and seized over 600g of cannabis, bank cards, over $3,000 cash, and 20g of methylamphetamine.
The man was arrested at the scene and taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was charged with:
- Driver or rider state false name or home address,
- Drive motor vehicle during disqualification period,
- Supply prohibited drug greater than small & less than indictable quantity,
- Possession of equipment for administering prohibited drugs,
- Goods in personal custody suspected being stolen (not motor vehicle),
- Deal with property proceeds of crime less than $100000 & less than $5000, and
- Supply prohibited drug greater than indictable & less than commercial quantity.
He was refused bail to appear before Fairfield Local Court today (Thursday 5 December 2024).
