A man will face court charged after an alleged fire and pursuit in Sydney’s south west this morning.
About 2am (Friday 2 August 2024), officers from Liverpool Police Area Command were on routine patrol along Hoxton Park Road, Liverpool, when they observed a restaurant on fire.
It will be alleged that officers sighted a Suzuki Swift leave the scene where they attempted to stop the vehicle.
When the vehicle failed to stop a pursuit was initiated but was terminated due to safety reasons.
A short time later police sighted the vehicle on Fifteenth Avenue, West Hoxton, and another pursuit was commenced.
The vehicle was followed into King Street, Rossmore, where it will be alleged that the driver stopped the vehicle and attempted to run from the scene but was arrested by officers.
A 20-year-old man was taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with 12 offences.

He was refused bail to appear before Liverpool Local Court today (Friday 2 August 2024).
