Police Charge Man Over GPS Monitoring Obligations

A man will appear in court today charged over failing to maintain his GPS tracking device.

Detectives from SAPOL’s Public Protection Branch arrested the 36-year-old man at his northern suburbs home on Saturday 27 July.

He was charged with failing to maintain his GPS tracking device. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today, Monday 29 July.

Detective Chief Inspector Naomi Oberscheidt from the Public Protection Branch states, “Police urge anyone in the community who needs to access support in relation to child abuse or exploitation to visit the ACCCE website – – for a full list of available support services with contact details.

“Members of the public who have information about people involved in child abuse and exploitation are urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or

“If you know abuse is happening right now or a child is at risk, call police immediately on Triple Zero.”
