A man has been charged after police seized fraudulently obtained parcels, false documents, and stolen bills in Sydney’s Inner-West.
About 1.15pm yesterday (Thursday 4 April 2019), a 27-year-old man attended a post office in a shopping centre at Broadway in Glebe, and asked to collect a parcel that contained a new mobile phone.
The man provided false identification to staff, who became suspicious and called police.
Police attended a short time later and arrested the man.
During a search of his vehicle, officers allegedly located a further parcel containing a mobile phone, as well as numerous false documents consisting of six passports, 42 drivers licences, and 21 electricity bills.
The man was taken to Newtown Police Station and charged with deal with identity information to commit indictable offence, dishonestly obtain property by deception and possess identity info to commit indictable offence.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Friday 26 April 2019.
