Police have charged a 21-year-old man with multiple offences after an alleged stolen vehicle (white Audi) evaded police at Helensvale overnight.
Around 9pm last night Pol Air began tracking a Subaru wagon which had been confirmed stolen from a Miami address between November 6 and November 7.
The vehicle was tracked from Helensvale to Nerang where it met up with a second vehicle, a white Audi, which was also confirmed stolen from Helensvale on November 7.
Both vehicles then travelled back to Helensvale and parked in Linfield Road.
Police moved in and were able to secure the Subaru wagon and the two occupants of the vehicle, a 17-year-old male and a 13-year-old girl, at the scene without incident.
The white Audi sped off along Discovery Drive and near Helensvale Road tyre deflation device (stingers) were successfully deployed by police.
The driver of the Audi fled fled on foot and ran into a nearby school.
Police cordoned off the area and located the man who was allegedly extremely aggressive and threatening violence towards police.
A taser was deployed and the man taken into custody.
The 21-year-old man from New South Wales was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, burglary and commit and indictable offence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and obstruct police.
He will face the Southport Magistrates Court this morning.
A 17-year-old male from Varsity Lakes, allegedly located in the stolen Subaru, was arrested for burglary, receiving tainted property, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a vehicle, possess by night instrument of house breaking, unlawful possession of suspected stolen property and possession of a knife.
