Police have charged a man over multiple robberies in the Lennox Head area today.
About 1.20am today (Friday 14 July 2023), officers attached to Richmond Police District were called to a business on Park Lane, Lennox Head, following reports of a break and enter.
On arrival police were told a man had allegedly broken into the business threatening a 41-year-old man with a pistol before fleeing the scene with cash and personal items.
The same day about 8.10am a man entered a recreational centre on Stewart Street, Lennox Head, allegedly threatening a 30-year-old man and two women aged 38 and 35 with a pistol before detaining them in the business.
The man then allegedly fled the scene on a bicycle with cash.
Following inquiries police arrested a 41-year-old man on Rayner Lane, Lennox Head.
He was taken to Ballina Police Station where he was charged with special aggravated break, enter and steal, robbery armed with dangerous weapon and three counts of detain for advantage.
He has been refused bail to appear before Lismore Local Court tomorrow (Saturday 15 July 2023).
