A man has been charged after a cleaner was stabbed at Woolloomooloo earlier today.
Emergency services were called to a school on Forbes Street, Woolloomooloo, about 7.15am (Wednesday 1 June 2022), and found a 61-year-old man had been stabbed in his right forearm.
He was treated at the scene by staff members before NSW Ambulance paramedics took him to St Vincent’s Hospital.
Officers attached to Kings Cross Police Area Command attended and arrested a 35-year-old man nearby.
He was taken to Surry Hills Police Station where he has been charged with seven offences,
• Wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
• Armed with intent to commit indictable offence
• Reckless wounding
• Stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (two counts)
• Possess prohibited drug
• Custody of knife in public place
The man, from Potts Point, was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 2 June 2022).
The injured man, who is from Toongabbie, has been released after receiving treatment.
Strike Force Senate has been formed to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
