A man has now been charged following the fatal stabbing of another man in Sydney’s west last month.
About 8:50pm (Thursday 28 February 2019), emergency services were called to Gladstone Street, North Parramatta, following reports of two men fighting.
On arrival, police located a 45-year-old man in the driveway of a unit block suffering stab wounds to his back and neck.
Officers from Parramatta Police Area Command attempted to revive the man; however, when NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
About 2.30am on Friday 1 March 2019, a 35-year-old man was arrested inside a unit on Gladstone Street.
He was taken to Westmead Hospital under police guard for treatment to a pre-existing injury.
About 5.50pm yesterday (Monday 4 March 2019), he was released from hospital and taken to Parramatta Police Station where he was charged with murder.
He was refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Local Court today (Tuesday 5 March 2019).
