Police investigating a death at a correctional facility at Silverwater in Sydney’s west have charged a man with murder.
Officers from the Auburn Police Area Command were called to the Metropolitan Remand and Reception Centre (MRRC) around 6.30 this morning (Thursday 13 June 2019) after Corrective Services NSW staff discovered the 24-year-old man deceased.
A section of the centre was sealed off as the crime scene was analysed by forensics experts and statements sought by investigators.
A 28-year-old man has been charged with murder.
He has been ordered to appear before the Burwood Local Court tomorrow, Friday 14 June 2019.
