Police charge men over rural break-ins crime series, South Australia

Two men have been remanded in custody to face court in April charged with a string of break-ins across regional South Australia.

Between 17 July and 1 September, Yorke Mid North Police and CIB detectives have been investigating a crime series of break-ins at rural businesses and sporting clubs across the state; at Warooka, Edithburgh, Orroroo, Jamestown, Gladstone, Berri, Keith, Tintinara, Kapunda, Tanunda, Normanville, Yankalilla and Ardrossan.

Police will allege the men stole cash and property worth thousands of dollars from 25 businesses and clubs.

On 15 September, police arrested a 53-year-old Walkerville man and a 44-year-old Seaford Meadows man and charged the pair with a combined 68 offences relating to the break-ins and thefts.

They were refused police bail and appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court where they were remanded in custody until 3 April 2023.
