Two men have been charged after an armed home invasion in Burwood earlier this year.
About 1.30pm on Monday 20 January 2020, a group of men –armed with a firearm, knife, electronic stun device and a hammer – allegedly entered a home on Brooklyn Street, Burwood, and demanded money.
The group allegedly restrained then assaulted two men, aged 33 and 59, while they searched the property, taking cash before leaving.
A 7-year-old boy was also home at the time. He was not injured.
Officers from Burwood Police Area Command established a crime scene and initiated an investigation, including the release of CCTV.
Following inquiries, at 6.30am on Thursday 9 April 2020, a 19-year-old man was arrested at Dunmore Street, Pendle Hill and taken to Granville Police Station.
He was charged with Robbery while armed with dangerous weapon and Possess prohibited drug.
He was refused bail and appeared before Liverpool Local Court on Thursday 9 April where he was granted conditional bail to reappear at Burwood Local Court on Wednesday 3 June 2020.
Further investigations by Burwood Detectives led to the arrest of a 21-year-old man at a correctional facility in Nowra at 10.30am yesterday (Wednesday 20 May 2020).
The man was charged with in company rob while armed with dangerous weapon and take/detain person in company with intent obtain advantage.
He was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Monday 25 May 2020.
