Police charge two men after car park altercation, Upper Coomera

Police are investigating an incident in a car park of a shopping centre on Coomera Grand Drive this afternoon.

Around 3pm it will be alleged a verbal argument occurred between the occupants of a black van and a blue utility.

The driver of the utility allegedly drove away then returned and deliberately collided with the van containing three men.

It will be further alleged, a passenger got out of the van and stabbed the passenger of the utility in the upper arm.

The man who alleged received the stab wound fled the scene before police arrived and later presented at Gold Coast University Hospital.

A second passenger of the van was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital with a foot injury.

A 19-year-old Coomera man has been charged with wounding and going armed so as to cause fear.

A 33-year-old Upper Coomera man was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle.

Both men are due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on March 25.

Detective Inspector Brendan Smith said, “There are no concerns for the public, both men are known to each other with police investigating the circumstances surrounding the dispute.

“Behaviour, such as seen today, will not be tolerated and the Queensland Police Service will bring all available resources to bear to bring offenders before the courts.”
