A man and woman have been charged over the alleged trafficking of illicit drugs in South Yarra.
The Prahran Divisional Response Unit executed a search warrant at a unit on Malvern Road, about 7.40am on Monday 20 May.
During the search, police seized approximately 40g of methamphetamine with an estimated potential street value of $10,000, as well as quantities of cocaine, 1,4 Butanediol and prescription medications including morphine, oxycontin and oxycodone.
Police also seized cash and mobile phones, as well as an e-bike, an e-scooter, desktop computer, DJ equipment and clothing – all believed to have been stolen – along with a driver’s license in the name of another person, and a cheque for more than $100,000.
A 45-year-old woman and 42-year-old man – both from South Yarra – were arrested at the unit.
Both were charged with 23 offences, including trafficking methylamphetamine, GHB and cocaine, possess methylamphetamine, GHB, cocaine and prescription drugs, handle stolen goods, and deal with proceeds of crime.
The woman was also charged with failing to answer bail.
Both were bailed to appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 8 August 2024.
It will be alleged the pair was distributing drugs in the local area and on selling stolen goods via social media.
