A woman has faced court following a pursuit in the Tamworth area yesterday.
About 1am yesterday (Sunday 10 September 2023), officers attached to Oxley Police District attempted to stop a suspected stolen Nissan SUV travelling west on Petra Avenue, South Tamworth.
When the driver allegedly failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.
A short time later, the vehicle stopped on Petra Avenue, and the driver allegedly ran to a nearby home where she was arrested.
The vehicle was seized by police and will undergo forensic examination.
The 26-year-old woman was taken to Tamworth Police Station where she was charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.
The woman was refused bail and appeared before Tamworth Local Court yesterday (Sunday 10 September 2023), where she was granted conditional bail to reappear before the same Court on Monday 18 September 2023.
