A woman will face court next month charged with high-range drink driving in Newcastle overnight.
About 6pm on Thursday 23 January 2020, a 44-year-old woman was allegedly driving erratically along Fern Street, Islington, with a four-year-old child in the car.
Officers from Newcastle City Police District and NSW Ambulance paramedics were called a short time later and spoke with the woman.
The woman was subjected to a roadside breath test which allegedly returned a positive result.
She was arrested and taken to Newcastle Police Station where she was subjected to a breath analysis which allegedly returned a reading of 0.222.
She was charged with high-range PCA and granted conditional bail to face Newcastle Local Court on Thursday 13 February 2020.
The child is being cared for by family members.
