Police continue to appeal for the whereabouts of Todd Menegaldo

Homicide Squad detectives are continuing to appeal for information to locate Todd Menegaldo.

Detectives would like to speak with Menegaldo in relation to an assault in the CBD on Wednesday, 9 October.

A 44-year-old Seddon man was walking on Elizabeth Street from Flinders Street when he was approached by a man and struck to the head about 6.30pm.

The Seddon man was taken to hospital with critical injuries and sadly died on 12 October.

Through further investigation, police believe the victim and Menegaldo were known to one another, and this was a targeted incident.

Detectives are releasing two new images of Menegaldo, taken in the week prior to the assault.

It’s believed Menegaldo’s appearance can vary slightly, as seen in the below images.

He is described as being approximately 180 -185cm tall with a thin build and goes by the nickname ‘Rooster’.

It is unclear if he is still travelling with his black and white crossbreed Staffordshire terrier.

Menegaldo is known to frequent the Melbourne CBD, in particular the areas around Elizabeth Street and Flinders Street railway station, as well as the Mildura and Bendigo areas.

The Fugitive Taskforce are assisting with the investigation and police have increased their proactive patrols in these areas.

Anyone who sights Menegaldo is urged not to approach him and to contact triple zero (000) immediately.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
